80MM MAF Installation

I bought my 80MM from the SHO Shop and I'm running it with Ted B's LPM. After doing some research I decided that the best hp gains seem to be taking place when the stock air box is used.  The conversion is very easy, and doesn't require physically modifying the air box cover.

Take the MAF to Menards, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. and go to the plumbing department. Find a piece of flexible tubing that will fit over the end of the 80MM MAF while leaving about 1 1/2 to 2" of overhang for the other end to slide on to the air box cover.

The piece I got was tapered at the other end, but it was soft enough that I was able to cut the three inches or so off that I needed.

Cover the holes in the air box lid from the stock MAF. I used those sticky backed anti-squeek pads that you stick to the back of brake pads. The one I used looked like aluminum foil - kinda matches the MAF. Get two large hose clamps to hold the two sections together - one tightened to the MAF, the other on the air box lid.
